Shreya Ghoshal is an Indian Playback Singer. She is born on 12th March 1984 in Murshidabad, West Bengal. She has recorded many songs for the film in different Indian languages including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. She has established herself as a leading playback singer of Indian cinema.
At an early age, she aspired to become a playback singer. She won the television singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa which was very notable. She made her Bollywood debut in 2002 with the film Devdas. She received National Film Award, Filmfare Award and Filmfare R D Burman Award for this film.
Ms. Ghoshal is well-known in singing Hindi, Pop, Classical, Ghazal and Bhajan. She recorded the first song for the film “Bairi Piya” with Udit Narayan. Shreya was also the Judge of television singing reality shows Star voice of India, Music Ka Maha Muqqabla and Indian Idol Junior.
Apart from singing, she has been honored by the U.S. state of Ohio as they declared 26 June 2010 is a “Shreya Ghoshal Day”. Some of her popular songs are Dheere Jalna, Yeh Ishq Haaye, Dola Re Dola, Barso Re, Teri Ore, Deewani Mastani and many other songs.
