Akshaye Vinod Khanna is a Hindi cinema actor from India. He is the late Indian actor Vinod Khanna’s son. Akshaye was born on 28 March 1975.
Pankaj Parashar’s love drama Himalay Putra (1997), in which he co-starred alongside his father Vinod, Hema Malini, Satish Shah, Johny Lever, Danny Denzongpa, and Amrish Puri, was Khanna’s acting debut.
Later that year, Khanna co-starred with Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff in J. P. Dutta’s military drama Border. Border received four Filmfare Awards, including one for Best Male Debut for Khanna.
Khanna’s first film in 1999 was Aa Ab Laut Chalen, a musical romance directed by Rishi Kapoor and starring Aishwarya Rai.
Khanna next appeared in Subhash Ghai’s musical love triangle Taal, alongside Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor. In 2001, Khanna co-starred with Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Khan in Farhan Akhtar’s coming-of-age comedy-drama Dil Chahta Hai.
Khanna’s next film release was Abbas–romantic Mustan’s thriller Humraaz (2002), in which he portrayed the major antagonist alongside Bobby Deol and Ameesha Patel.
Khanna acted as an electronic salesperson in Priyadarshan’s romantic comedy Hungama, alongside Rimi Sen, Paresh Rawal, and Aftab Shivdasani, in 2003.
Khanna’s performance in Abbas–action Mustan’s film Race was a defining moment in his career.
He then starred in No Problem, a comedy directed by Anees Bazmee. Tees Maar Khan, a farcical comedy directed by Farah Khan, was Khanna’s final film of 2009. Khanna played the character of a well-known yet unscrupulous actor. The picture was a moderate success. His success at the box office garnered him a nomination for the Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Male.
Khanna appeared in Section 375 in 2019. After a long self-imposed exile, Akshaye Khanna returned in the lead role in Section 375 and was nominated for the 65th Filmfare Award Best Actor Critics as well as the Star Screen Awards for Best Actor Critics.
