Aditi Rao Hydari is an Indian actress, singer, and dancer who has appeared in films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Aditi was born on 28 October 1986.

Aditi Rao Hydari is the daughter of acclaimed classical musician Ehsaan Hydari and his wife Vidya Rao, who is known for the thumri and Dadra genres of music. Hydari is a fusion of Bohri, Chitrapur Saraswat, and Telugu forefathers.

In 2007, Hydari made her acting debut in the Tamil film Sringaram. She rose to prominence with her portrayal in Sudhir Mishra’s 2011 romantic drama Yeh Saali Zindagi, for which she was nominated for a Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress. She went on to star in other Bollywood movies like Rockstar (2011), Murder 3 (2013), and the action comedy Boss (2013).

In 2016, Hydari co-starred in Bejoy Nambiar’s murder thriller Wazir starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar.

Hydari then acted alongside Tabu, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Katrina Kaif in Abhishek Kapoor’s love drama Fitoor.

In 2017, Hydari played the prominent character of Doctor Leela Abraham in Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai. She was able to expand her career into the South Indian film industry after the film’s release. Her performance as Queen Mehrunisa in the 2018 epic blockbuster Padmaavat earned positive reviews and is one of India’s highest-grossing films.
