A M Turaz’s Biography:

A.M. Turaz is a poet, lyricist, and screenwriter from India. He has worked in films, Indian television, and music albums.

A.M. Turaz was born on September 19, 1981 in the village of Sambhaleheda in Miranpur Muzaffaranagar, Uttar Pradesh. He finished his primary and secondary education in his hometown before moving to Mumbai to become a writer.

Turaz began his career by writing for television in 2005. After writing scripts for daily soaps as an assistant writer, his first task in Mumbai was to create songs for the film “Kuriyon Ka Hai Zamana” in 2006. Then Jail, Guzarish, Chakravyuh, and Jackpot. The musical album “We Indians” – sare Jahan se Aacha Hindustan Hamara is also directed by him. The songs “Aayat”, “Kabhi jo Baadal Barse”, “Tera Zikr”, “Udi”, and “tere liyeah mere Kareem” were the most well known songs written by him.

A. M. Turaz’s shayaris are also very popular.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzarish was released in 2010, and it includes the popular song “Udi” written by Turaz. This song was one of the superhits of that time.
He penned the songs “Aayat”- “Ab tohe Jane Na Doongi” and “Aaj Ibaadat” for the historical movie – Bajirao Mastani.

The songs “Ghoomar”, “Khalibali” and “Binte Dil” from Padmaavat were also written by him. The “Ghoomar “ song is one of the most popular song as it is related to the folk dance of Rajasthan “ghoomar”. He won the Radio Mirchi award in 2015 and 2017 for song of the year for the movie “Padmaavat” too. He has also written lyrics for ads and some private albums too.
