Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, better known by his stage name Badshah, is an Indian rapper, singer, lyricist, actor, film producer and businessman known for his Hindi, Haryanvi, and Punjabi songs who was born on 19 November 1985 in Delhi to a haryanvi father and Punjabi mother.
The singer completed his schooling from Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura, Delhi. Later he enrolled himself as a maths student in Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and then as a civil engineer in PEC, Chandigarh which was the turning point of his life. It was during the time he spent in PEC, he was exposed to Punjabi music and decided to become a rapper.
Badshah, many times in his interviews, stated that if not a rapper he might have been an IAS officer. The singer married Jasmine Masih, a resident of Jalandhar ,Punjab in 2012. The ceremony was an intimate one and the couple welcomed their daughter Jessemy Grace Masih Singh in 2017. The rapper made his debut with the song “DJ Waley Babu” also featuring Aastha Gill.
The song was a huge success and was ranked number one on the Indian iTunes charts within 24 hours of the release. The song crossed million views on YouTube within 30 hours of its release. He started his career in the music industry with the name “Cool Equal”, but then changed his name to Badshah and is well known for the catchphrase “it’s your boy Badshah”.
In 2018, Badshah released his debut album O.N.E. – Original Never Ends. Aditya made his acting debut with the movie “Khandaani Shafakhana” starring alongside Sonakshi Sinha which was a box office disaster.
The singer went on to sing many hit songs like Proper Patola, Chull, Wakhra Swag, Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, Paagal, Genda Phool, Bachpan Ka pyaar, and many more.
