Aditya Roy Kapur’s Biography :

Aditya Roy Kapur is an Indian film actor who primarily appears in Hindi films. He made his Bollywood debut in the 2009 film London Dreams, but it was the 2013 film Aashiqui 2 that catapulted him to stardom.

Kapur was born on November 16, 1985, in Mumbai, to Kumud Roy Kapur, a Punjabi Hindu father, and Salome Aaron, a Jewish mother. Raghupat Roy Kapur, his grandfather, was a film producer in the early 1940s. Kapur is the youngest of the three brothers; his eldest brother, Siddharth Roy Kapur, was the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures, and his second elder brother, Kunaal Roy Kapur, is also an actor.

Kapur began his career as a VJ on music channel Channel V India, where he was praised for his comedic timing and “unique style of hosting.” He hosted the hugely popular ‘India’s hottest’ show with VJ, Bruna Abdullah show until 2008, and he also did a show for Channel V called Pakao.

Kapur made his Hindi cinema debut in the 2009 comedy-drama London Dreams, which also starred Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Asin Thottumkal. [9] With his two films released in 2010, Action Replayy starring Akshay Kumar and Guzaarish starring Hrithik Roshan, he resumed his string of supporting roles. None of these films, however, were successful at the box office and helped to establish Kapur’s reputation.

In 2013, Kapur made his breakthrough in the love movie Aashiqui 2 alongside Shraddha Kapoor as Rahul Jaykar. Aashiqui 2, which debuted on April 26, 2013, was a huge triumph at the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year.

In 2019, Kapur co-starred with Disha Patani in the romantic action thriller Malang as Adavit Thakur. Critics gave Malang mixed reviews, with the exception of Kapur’s performance, which received largely excellent reviews. In 2020, he played with Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt in the Disney+ Hotstar drama film Sadak 2 as Vishal Agnihotri. He played Aakash in the Netflix film Ludo, which was released on November 12, 2020.

Om: The Battle Within, directed by Kapil Verma and produced by Zee Studios, Ahmed Khan, and Shaira Khan, began shooting on December 3, 2020, with Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi.
